Inventory

All collection locations (other than LCA) should be inventoried once per year. 

Inventory instructions:

  1. Check the Inventory Sheet to determine which sections of the library are due for inventory.
  2. Login to Circa (must have Circa permissions from Marmot). You might see a message that indicates the site is not safe. Go into the advanced menu to proceed to the webiste.
  3. Click "Inventory Control."
  4. Connect an inventory scanner to your computer using either bluetooth or the dongle.
  5. Make sure your computer volume is turned on. 
  6. Scan the barcode of each item in the section. Listen for the sound to indicate the item was scanned and update was successful. If there is an issue with the item (it is currently checked out, has been billed, etc.) you will hear a warning sound and will need to select an option to move forward.
  7. When you're done scanning a section, a Create List should be run to determine which items should be on the shelf, but do not show an inventory date reflected the recent scan. Use Marmot's Instructions, under Create Lists  - Inventory Reports, to determine what criteria to include in Create List.

  9. Log completion date in the Inventory Sheet.
