What an incredible evening! Thank you to everyone who joined us for LCPL’s 5th annual Banned Books Week Author Talk!

We were honored to welcome Gabby Rivera, author of Juliet Takes a Breath, to Leadville. Gabby shared insights into her book and writing process, spoke about the important role libraries play in our communities, and inspired us with her reflections on turning challenging emotions and experiences into love. Her warmth and generosity were just as memorable as her words, and she made time to connect with attendees one-on-one throughout the evening.

Thank you for spending the evening with us, Gabby! We’re so grateful you came to Leadville.

A huge thank-you also goes to Carolina and her food truck, Tacos La Muñeca, for providing a delicious FREE dinner for our guests!

Couldn't make it this year? You missed a special evening! But don't worry—we're already looking ahead to next year's celebration. We're still working out the details, so keep an eye on our social media and website for the announcement. We hope to see you there!

Our Collections

We know that not everyone loves to sit down with a book. Some of us would rather listen to our stories, while others like to follow along with the words on the page. Good news: the library has options for all kinds of readers!

We’ve recently added more Playaways, Launchpads, and read-along books to our physical collection, so there are even more ways to enjoy a good story.

And if you’re always on the go, don’t forget that your LCPL Resident Library Card includes access to Libby, where you can borrow e-audiobooks to enjoy on a hike, during your commute, or while tackling that never-ending pile of laundry. Because let’s be honest, washing dishes and vacuuming are a lot less boring when you’ve got a good story to keep you company.

See you at the library!

LCPL

PS: Don’t forget to follow us on socials! You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky.

LCPL
