We hope spring is treating you well. We have a few fun bits of information for you in this edition of our newsletter. Please, read on!
Announcements/Updates
In case you missed it, we will be closed Saturday May 24th and Monday May 26th for Memorial Day.
Our Drop In partnership with the Colorado Workforce Center is canceled on Friday May 23. It will resume Friday May 30th.
The Group Computer Class that previously met on the last Tuesday of the month has been canceled indefinitely. The Learning Source, which is an extension of AmeriCorps Colorado, has been forced to furlough all staff. We still offer One-On-One Tech help appointments. Stop by to make your appointment to receive help with tasks and functions (not repairs).
Crafty Hour, Bilingual Storytime, and Read and Discover Storytime are going on hiatus after May 15th in preparation for Summer Reading next month. We’ll have all kinds of fresh programming to announce in June. Then, regular programming will resume after Summer Reading is over.
Our Community
More than 70 people joined us on Saturday, May 10, for an inspiring day with author Pam Houston, featuring both a writing workshop and an author talk. We were thrilled to partner with Cloud City Conservation Center for this special event. A special thanks to Soup Hug and Eddyline Brewery for helping our free community dinner be so delicious!
Workshop participants shared how much they gained from the experience and the energy continued into the author talk where the audience was fully engaged in a dynamic Q&A session led by Matt. Thoughtful, insightful questions made for a meaningful conversation with Pam, who has a unique gift for encouraging others to embrace their truest selves.
Pam also graciously signed copies of her books Cowboys Are My Weakness, Deep Creek, and Without Exception.

Our Collections
We’re so excited to feature The Creation Station this month! Brand new to the library, the Creation Station is a place where kids and adults can make their design dreams into reality. From sublimation, to vinyl printing, to Cricut creating (and more!) patrons can use our computers and software to design cards, hats, t-shirts, puzzles, keychains, and more!
All Lake County Residents with library cards receive one free “blank” item per month on their account. Subsequent items can be purchased from the library or you are welcome to bring your own materials in to create with!

Esperamos que la primavera les esté tratando bien. Tenemos algunas noticias y actualizaciones divertidas para ustedes en esta edición de nuestro boletín. ¡Sigan leyendo!

Por si se lo perdieron, estaremos cerrados el sábado 24 de mayo y el lunes 26 de mayo por el Día de los Caídos (Memorial Day).
Nuestra colaboración Drop In con el Centro de Fuerza Laboral de Colorado está cancelada el viernes 23 de mayo. Se reanudará el viernes 30 de mayo.
La clase grupal de computación que solía reunirse el último martes del mes ha sido cancelada indefinidamente. The Learning Source, una extensión de AmeriCorps Colorado, se ha visto obligada a suspender temporalmente a todo su personal. Aun así, seguimos ofreciendo citas individuales de ayuda tecnológica. Pase por la biblioteca para programar su cita y recibir ayuda con tareas y funciones (no reparaciones).
Crafty Hour, la Hora de Cuentos Bilingüe, y la Hora de Cuentos “Read and Discover” estarán en pausa después del 15 de mayo, en preparación para la Lectura de Verano del próximo mes. Tendremos todo tipo de programación nueva para anunciar en junio. Luego, la programación regular se reanudará después del final de la Lectura de Verano.

¡Estamos muy emocionados de presentar The Creation Station este mes! Recién llegada a la biblioteca, The Creation Station es un espacio donde niños y adultos pueden hacer realidad sus sueños de diseño. Desde sublimación, impresión en vinilo, creación con Cricut ¡y mucho más! Los usuarios pueden usar nuestras computadoras y software para diseñar tarjetas, gorras, camisetas, rompecabezas, llaveros ¡y más!
Todos los residentes del condado de Lake con tarjeta de la biblioteca recibe un artículo “en blanco” gratuito al mes en su cuenta. Los artículos adicionales se pueden comprar en la biblioteca o puede traer sus propios materiales para crear.
