Welcome to May! Yeah, we can’t believe it’s here already either, but that means summer is right around the corner. Read on for your monthly dose of LCPL activities to choose from:
Closures & Cancellations
The library will be closed May 15th for in-service.
The library will be closed May 23 & 25 for Memorial Day Weekend.

Children's Mental Health Awareness Storytime
Tuesday May 5th | 10:30-11:30am
SolVista Health will be joining us for a very special storytime & crafts while they share their resources with parents about children’s mental health.

1st Wednesday of the month | 7-8pm | Treeline
Every month we read one book, and meet on the 1st Wednesday to discuss our readings. Discussion meetings held in the Library, or around town. This month Anni will be guest hosting in May.
Once you register, Finn from the library will reach out with details regarding the month's and readers may come to the library to get their book for the upcoming month.
*At least 8 copies of the book on hand--first come, first serve.*
2nd Wednesday of the month | 12:30-3:30 | Baby Doe Room
Stop by the library on the second Wednesday of every month from 12:30-3:30 to meet with a representative of the Colorado Workforce Center. For employees and employers. Get help and resources for all things related to jobs and careers!

Get ready for a sweet treat! In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander’s month, May’s Make and Take Club will be candy sushi making! Come make some adorable gummy sushi with us.

The Game Hub Club is a video game program for tweens. A fun, social space where kids ages 8-12 can play age appropriate video games with different consoles, work together, and build friendships. This program encourages teamwork, problem solving, and positive communication while providing a safe and welcoming environment outside of school!
Note: Due to limited consoles/controllers, it is a first come first serve BUT most pc’s/controllers/iPads will be taken by Project Dream.
1st Thursday of the Month | 6:30 - 8:30pm | Ages 18+ (or teens with parent/guardian)
Join the Tarot Tarts to enjoy a space of community while learning more about tarot. Bring your deck or use one of ours! No registration required.
Second Thursday of the month | 6:30 - 8:30pm | Ages 18+
Are you an adult who likes playing games? Whether you're new to board games or a pro, come to the library and have fun with us! Every month we'll have a different featured game. Popcorn, hot chocolate, and tea will be provided; feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks. Leave your kids at home & bring your competitive spirit! No registration required.
Fridays | 3:00 - 4:00 | Ages Suggested 12+
Every Friday, build decks, trade cards, and challenge friends to matches. Suggested for ages 12+ but all interested are welcome! No registration required.

Do you struggle to get to the library during business hours? Is leaving your home a challenge? We can bring library materials to you! Whether you want to be surprised with topics you choose or you want to choose specific materials, the library can drop off and pick up your items whenever and wherever it is convenient for you. To get started fill out this interest form here.

We have a ton of tools available for your home improvement projects this summer! All LCPL resident library cardholders (with accounts in good standing) are eligible to check out tools AFTER they complete a Tool Library Orientation. You can request your orientation appointment on our website HERE.

We have a ton of cool things to check out this summer at the library! From Colorado State Park Passes, to telescopes, to craft kits, musical instruments, yard games and more! All LCPL resident library cardholders (with accounts in good standing) are eligible to check out from the Library of Things after a waiting period of 30 days from the time they get their card and they fill out the waiver. Stop by and check out all the cool things we have!
The Creation Station
BY APPOINTMENT | All Ages
Create, create, create! Unleash your creativity and craftyness with the LCPL Creation Station. Make all kinds of things like: stickers, hats, t-shirts, keychains, mugs, puzzles, mousepads, custom etching of drinkware, custom wood engraving, and SO much more! All LCPL resident cardholders (in good standing) are eligible after completing an orientation. To sweeten the deal, LCPL provides one free “blank” item a month for you to create with! Additional supplies can be purchased at low cost from the library or you can bring your own supplies in. (Don’t worry, we can give you guidelines on what to buy.) Club de Lectura para Adultos
Primer Miércoles del Mes | 7-8pm | Treeline
Cada mes leemos un libro y nos reunimos el primer miércoles para comentarlo/ Las reuniones se realizan en la biblioteca o en distintos lugares del pueblo. Este mes, Anni será la anfitriona invitada en mayo.
Una vez que te registres, Finn de la biblioteca se pondrá en contacto contigo con detalles del mes, y los lectores pueden pasar por la biblioteca para recoger su libro para el próximo mes.
Habrá al menos 8 copias disponibles por orden de llegada.
Asistencia del Centro de Empleo de Colorado

Game Hub
Todos los jueves | 3:45-5pm | Edades 8-12
El Club es un programa de videojuegos para preadolescentes. Un espacio social divertido donde los niños pueden jugar videojuegos apropiados para su edad en diferentes consolas, trabajar en equipo y hacer amistades. Fomentar el trabajo en equipo, la resolución de problemas y la comunicación positiva en un ambiente seguro y acogedor fuera de la escuela.
Nota: Debido a la cantidad limitada de consolas/controles, es por orden de llegada, PERO la mayoría de computadoras/iPads serán utilizadas por Project Dream.
Club de Tarot

Únete a Tarot para disfrutar de un espacio comunitario mientras aprendes más sobre el tarot. ¡Trae tu baraja o usa una de las nuestras! No se requiere inscripción.

¿Te gusta jugar juegos? Ya sea principiante o experto, ven a la biblioteca y diviértete con nosotros. Cada mes habra un juego destacado diferente. ¡Nos llevamos los materiales a ti! Puedes elegir temas o materiales específicos, y la biblioteca se encarga de entregarlos y recogerlos cuando y donde te convenga. Para comenzar, llena el formulario de interés.

¡Tenemos muchísimas cosas increíbles para prestar este verano! Desde pases para parques estatales de Colorado, telescopios, kits de manualidades, instrumentos musicales, juegos de patio y más. Los usuarios con tarjeta de LCPL (en buen estado) pueden acceder después de un período de espera de 30 días desde que obtienen su tarjeta y tras firmar un formulario. ¡Visítanos y descubre todo lo que tenemos!
Estación de Creación
CON CITA PREVIA | Todas las edades
¡Crea, crea, crea! Libera tu creatividad con la Creation Station de LCPL. Puedes hacer todo tipo de cosas como: calcomanías, gorras, camisetas, llaveros, tazas, rompecabezas, mousepads, grabado personalizado en vasos, grabado en madera ¡y mucho más!
Los usuarios con tarjeta LCPL (en buen estado) pueden usarla después de completar una orientación. Además, LCPL ofrece un artículo base gratis al mes para crear. Los materiales adicionales pueden comprarse a bajo costo en la biblioteca o puedes traer los tuyos (te damos recomendaciones sobre qué comprar). Completa el formulario para reservar tu orientación o tiempo privado en la estación.
