Updates:

The Colorado Workforce Center weekly open hours on Fridays is temporarily still cancelled while their newest employee gets settled in their new role. We hope to bring it back soon and will update you with more information as it becomes available.

After a brief disruption, self-booking of Tool Library and Library of Things items is BACK! Hooray! It does look a little different than before, however, the functionality is the same. The steps are as follows:

1. Navigate to the item you wish to book in our online catalog. 
2. Click “Schedule in Classic”.
3. Click “Book this material”.
4. Log in with your library card number & password (called PIN here).
5. Select your start and end dates (remember to select no more than 7 days!).
6. Click “submit”.

August 4th 4:30-6:30pm: American Pop Artist Michael Albert brings his Modern Pop Art Experience and Hands On Cereal Box Collage workshop to LCPL! All participants will have the chance to meet the nationally known artist, create a collage using his materials of choice (cereal boxes and other cardboard product packages) All participants also receive a free signed print for taking part in this special art enrichment program.

Our Community:

Our Summer Reading Challenge is in full swing and we’re on track to beat our record and our goals for the year! We currently have over 300 people registered and have already read a collective of over 75,000 minutes…amazing! Remember the challenge is for ALL ages and there’s still time to read 600 minutes before August 9th so sign up on Beanstack to get started. We are so proud of all of you and we’re excited for you to redeem your prizes.

To compliment this year’s theme of “Color Our World”, we’ve also been offering a variety of creativity focused programming for all ages. Be sure to check out all we have to offer come into any of our programs. They’re all FREE but some do require registration so that we can have the appropriate amount of materials available for you. Check out the list on our calendar or here.

Our Collections:

In keeping with our summer reading theme of Color Our World, this month we’re featuring all kinds of books on creativity. Want to learn more about leatherworking? We’ve got a book on that! Interested in upping your needlework game? We have a book for you! Want to read about the fascinating lives of artists and musicians you admire? Check out our biography section for the stories you crave! We’ve pulled together a group of featured books on a variety of creative topics, but we’ll be happy to assist you in obtaining a book on any topic you’re looking for. Come on in or give us a call and we’ll get you sorted. Don’t forget, we can put any of these books into a Read and Go delivery box for you if you’re unable to get to the library during regular business hours.

El horario semanal de atención del Centro de Fuerza Laboral de Colorado los viernes sigue temporalmente cancelado mientras su nuevo empleado se adapta a su nuevo rol. 

¡Esperamos poder reanudarlo pronto y les mantendremos informados a medida que tengamos más detalles!

Después de una breve interrupción, ¡el sistema de auto-reserva para los artículos de la Biblioteca de Herramientas y la Biblioteca de Cosas está DE VUELTA! ¡Bravo! Aunque se ve un poco diferente que antes, la funcionalidad es la misma. Los pasos son los siguientes:

1. Navega hasta el artículo que deseas reservar en nuestro catálogo en línea.
2. Haz clic en “Schedule in Classic”
3. Haz clic en “Book this material”
4. Inicia sesión con tu número de tarjeta de la biblioteca y contraseña ( aquí se llama PIN)
5. Selecciona tus fechas de inicio y fin (¡recuerda que no debe exceder de los 7 días!)
6. Haz clic en “Submit” (enviar).

4 de Agosto 4:30-6:30: ¡El artista de pop art estadounidense Michael Albert trae su experiencia de arte pop moderno y su taller práctico de collage con cajas de cereales a LCPL! Todos los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de conocer al artista de renombre nacional, crear un collage utilizando los materiales que él prefiere (cajas de cereales y otros envases de cartón). Además, todos los participantes recibirán una impresión firmada gratuita por participar en este programa especial de enriquecimiento artístico.

¡Nuestro Desafío de Lectura de Verano está en pleno apogeo y vamos en camino de romper nuestro récord y alcanzar nuestras metas del año! Actualmente tenemos más de 300 personas registradas y ya hemos leído colectivamente más de 75,000 minutos… ¡increíble!  Recuerda que el desafío es para todas las edades y aún hay tiempo para leer 600 minutos antes del 9 de agosto, así que regístrate en Beanstack para comenzar. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de ustedes y emocionados por verlos canjear sus premios!

Para complementar el tema de este año: “Colorea Nuestro Mundo”, también hemos estado ofreciendo una variedad de programas enfocados en la creatividad para todas las edades. Asegúrate de revisar todo lo que ofrecemos y acompáñanos en alguno de nuestros programas. Todos son GRATIS, pero algunos requieren registro previo para poder contar con los materiales necesarios. Hemos reunido una colección especial de libros sobre diversos temas creativos, pero con gusto te ayudaremos a encontrar libros sobre cualquier tema que te interese. Pasa a visitarnos o llámanos, y con gusto te ayudaremos.

Y no olvides: si no puedes venir durante nuestro horario regular, podemos enviarte los libros en una caja de entrega de “Read and Go”.
